Creating a sense of home in the midst of a bustling ATL
Shellis News is a rare breed in the airport, with a name that is a mashup of the founders’ names (Clark Sharpe and Geraldine Ellis Sharpe) and is truly a family business. The management includes children and extended family, all Atlanta natives, and all with close ties to each other and Atlanta. The result is a warm and welcoming experience bolstered by strong professional management.
Since 2001, Shellis Management Service, Inc. has been a welcome sight on the concourse—a familiar touchstone for frequent travelers and a pleasant discovery for others in search of last-minute travel essentials, pampering travel accessories, interesting reading materials, refreshing beverages and snacks, and local souvenirs to commemorate the trip.
Together, Shellis, Hudson, and other partners manage locations throughout Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
After 32 years with the FAA, Clark served as Vice President of government affairs at HMSHost, deepening his ACDBE mission from the other side of concessions for a decade. Then, for over 20 years, he has run Shellis Management Services, supported by family management. Clark is one of the founders of the AMAC organization and conference. He is also one of Atlanta’s successful concessionaires, winning retail store of the year in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
